ROCKET DAY!!
Summer School Fun!
Students in the Summer EAGLE program have been studying about rockets. They built rockets this week and shot them off today! Mrs. Foulk's stepdad, Mr. Ken came to help them each launch their rockets!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Westview students were surprised today by Mr. Bill Snow, Mr. Randy Gilbert, and Ms. Cecelia Hay from La-Z-boy with a $5,000 donation! Special Thank You to the La-Z-boy employees for nominating Westview to the foundation for consideration. We appreciate the kindness and support they show our district.

Despedida 2021 is tomorrow evening. This is our final farewell in celebration of the class of 2025. As a reminder- parking will be located in the front of the old rock building. Gate entry is at the new eagle carving, and doors open at 5:10pm. The event will begin promptly at 5:30pm, so please be seated at this time. No late entries will be allowed. We look forward to this elegant event!
The Parent Group is hosting a dance for grades 5-8 following this event, from 7-8:30pm. Student must dress elegant and bring $2 for entry.

Bull Riding Reward- The Conservation/ Agriculture class students had the opportunity to ride on a pedal-powered mechanical bull made by Mr. Enslow. It was a fun, rodeo experience that every class member enjoyed as well as several staff members. Rodeo activities are one of several events that agriculture students can participate in. This is a fun and safe way for students to gain the experience. Not to mention, the students enjoyed seeing classmates and teachers fall off long before the full 8 seconds!

Mrs. Macy's Class celebrated the ending of the school year & completion of Kindergarten "Barnyard Hoedown Style" last week! Kindergarten students and families had fun while petting the animals and moving through fun, outside games. We are proud of these students & hope they enjoy their summer break!
And a BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Macy, for preparing these little ones for 1st grade!

Students were to return Chromebooks and chargers today. Please call the office if need be. Thank you!

Mr. Enslow's 8th grade science students worked on a buoyancy project to complete their school year. Students were required to build a cardboard boat for two passengers using only cardboard and duct tape. They were also required to calculate the density by measuring the volume of the boat and the mass of the passengers in order to locate the depth of the water on the side of their boat.
Most of the boats were accurate at the water to plus or minus one inch. Some varied because the passengers were not well balanced in the boat. Most of the students didn’t have a lot of confidence in their boats although a majority of them stayed a float! The project was a great learning experience and fun for everyone including the bystanders!
