IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!
We will be running 2 bus routes starting at the PM route today. Buses will be leaving at the normal times.

Westview Families and Westview Team, we were notified today that a student at Westview School has tested positive for COVID-19. Our thoughts are with this individual as they navigate this illness, and we wish them an easy and quick recovery. Our goal in sending out this notification is to be as transparent as possible in providing information to our families and employees need in order to remain as healthy as possible during this uncertain time. When new confirmed cases arise, expect an email communication like this one at the end of the day. Please remember that due to privacy laws the school cannot give out specific, identifying information. At the direction of the Health Department, all students and employees who were exposed to the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 have been individually contacted. In this case, 6 close IN-SCHOOL contacts have been identified. Contacts that are determined to have been exposed OUTSIDE of school will be notified by the health department personally. If your child was NOT DIRECTLY EXPOSED, you would not be contacted. For example, here are a couple scenarios:
Scenario 1: A student/teacher in your child’s class has tested positive for COVID. After Newton County, administration, and school nurse has completed contact tracing your child was not listed as a person that needs to be isolated even though they are in the same class. The reason is, your child/teacher did not sit by this student, did not interact during the day with the student/teacher for more than 15 minutes without a layer of protections or was 6 feet away.
Scenario 2: A student/teacher in your child’s class is a family member (i.e big/little sister/brother, cousin) of a student who tested positive in another class. The family member of the student who tested positive would be considered a secondary contact and no isolation is required for your child as they did not have direct contact with the student who is positive.
As a reminder, we would like to share the following information in regards to what steps we can all take to help reduce the spread of COVID-19: -Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and report any to your student’s doctor and school. -If an employee or student has been directly exposed to someone positive for COVID-19, please report that to your school. -When social distancing is not possible, wear a mask or face covering unless a medical condition does not allow for it. -Wash your hands and sanitize frequently. -Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for updates about COVID-19. Thank you for helping us keep each other and the school year safe!

Parents please check your child's chromebook this evening. There are many student accounts that are being flagged in our monitoring system due to downloading of games, videos, changing search engines, etc. that are not school related. Students were told today, that these had better be removed from the Chromebook and Google restored as the search engines today or the Chromebook will be taken as these are school owned devices.
It has also been reported that some older students are turning their hotspots on from their phones so that others can download games and items.
If you have questions feel free to contact the office at 417-776-2425

Parents: If your student's Chromebook seems to not be charging, please follow these steps first:
