Reminder PreK- 4th grade Christmas Program tonight at The Civic. Doors will open at 5:45. Students will need to go to their designated areas to prepare for the program with their classroom teacher. Family members will need to wear a mask to enter the building and sit in the audience per board policy.

As Westview School District nears the end of the first semester of the 2021-2022 school year, we wanted to reach out to our community about our health and safety decisions in our schools.
The Board of Education regularly reviews the District’s COVID mitigation measures as adopted by our school board in our Safe Return to In- Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan as part of the Mitigation and Preventions Strategies for 2021-22. As part of our response to the current pandemic, Westview continues to monitor both the COVID numbers within our school community as well as how court decisions in pending litigation may affect our COVID mitigation efforts.
Yesterday, the Attorney General for the State of Missouri issued a letter to school districts in response to a recent decision from the Cole County Circuit Court that goes into effect December 22, 2021. Westview is reviewing that communication along with the recent decision to determine its effect on any portions of our COVID Mitigation Measures and the Board will take action on any revisions made to our COVID efforts prior to the December 22nd date when the Cole County order becomes final.
In the meantime, we will maintain the health protocols currently in place at Westview and in our buildings.
Please know that we continue to receive and evaluate guidance from the federal, state, and local levels to help inform our safety and mitigation measures. And, we will continue to keep our community informed on any changes to our protocols as we move forward together.

Mrs. Carpenter has been encouraging Westview students to spread cheer through random acts of kindness this month. When teachers see these acts, they give students a heart to display on a Grinch Wall in the Cafeteria. It reads, " The Grinch's heart is two sizes too small. Let's show him we care for one and for all."
All the hearts hanging up were given to students for displaying kindness at school. Ask your child if they have earned one, and help us spread all the kindness we can this season!! 🎄
CANNED FOOD Drive this Week!
STUCO is working on collecting canned food donations from each grade level to make Christmas Baskets for local families. Please see the list to help support their efforts! Drive ends Friday.

Our PK-4th grade Christmas program is tomorrow evening at the Neosho Civic Center at 6pm. Students should arrive at 5:45pm and check in with their classroom teacher. The program will begin at 6pm and is estimated to end around 7pm. Face covering, shield or a mask is required. We are super excited to share what we have been working on with you and hope you enjoy!

PICTURE RETAKES TOMORROW!! New picture orders: visit inter-state.com. Online code is: 65237H. If a student ordered a package and wants it reprinted with a retake photo, they will need to bring the old pictures back to the photographer during retakes tomorrow.

Penny Drive Fundraiser is NEXT WEEK!
Our Character Word this month is "Teamwork & Cooperation," and November is a time of thankfulness and appreciation. Therefore, our Student Coucil thought it would be great to "give back" to the Moving Mountains Program and hold a Penny Drive next week! Classrooms will work together to earn the highest 'positive' coin amount, winning a party & raising funds for this amazing program! Moving Mountains donates large quanties of food and snack packs to not only our students each month, but many others. We are very thankful and this is a great way to give back!

Veteran's Day is Thursday, Nov. 11th, and our teachers are compiling a presentation to honor our veterans, but we need your help! Please send in a picture of any family member(s) who has served in the military that you would like honored.
We will need your photos by this Friday, Nov. 5th. Please email all photos to pdearmond@wc6.org or send them to school with your student. Please make sure to write the contact information on the back of the picture, so we can get it back to you.

It is with great regret that we inform you that the outdoor Halloween party is cancelled. We have tried everything in our power to hold this event. We have used blowers to dry concrete pads and tried to lay down tarps, but have been defeated by the wind and weather. Parties will be held in the classrooms and visitors are not allowed at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
Halloween/Harvest parties are tomorrow!!
